There are two main methods to insert a figure into an article. Method 1 - Figures Macro (Preferred)- Use when you want to insert a single or multiple images that are large and require automatic resizing to create a thumbnail Step 1 - Attach figures/images to the page - Add your figures/images to the page using the Add drop down. Select Attachments. Step 2 - Use the figures macro - Type the following in the body of your article {figures:imagename1.jpg,imagename2.jpg}
- Separate multiple figures with a comma The figures with be automatically formatted into thumbnail images and clicking on the thumbnail will load a popup slideshow gallery of the larger figures. The comment added to the figure when attached to the page will be shown as the figure legend. This creates a much nicer, standardized presentation for the figures. Example
Method 2 - Insert/Edit Image Icon- Use when you want to insert a single image into the body of your article that does not require a larger image or figure legend. Step 1 - Attach the figures/images to the page - Select the Insert/Edit Image icon in the Rich Text editor - Attach figures/images to the page Step 2 - Select and Insert image - Select image that you want to insert into the text Example
